Barbarian Themed
an iron faceplate with one ghastly red eye
Heavy iron scales are wrought to form the visage of a leering one-eyed beast. The left eye socket is empty with a heavy scar-like line crossing it, while the right eye is surrounded with crushed red stones, making it appear to gleam with malice. Numerous straps secure the faceplate for heavy combat.
(heavy chain roar faceplate)
a chakrel severed tongue amulet covered in white worms
Strung on a loop of rusty iron wire the carved tongue is bumpy and bloated, as though snatched from a jaw and left to "age" in the sun. The chakrel stone is infested with dozens of carved ivory worms that seem to cling greedily to the tongue. Perhaps the amulet is a warning to those who would talk too much, or a caution those who would misuse chakrel, or maybe it is just decoration.
a chakrel shriveled head amulet hung from a length of knotted gut
Hung from knotted and twisted gut, the carefully shaped reddish-orange stone contains slender black streaks and a perfect white flame-shaped inclusion between the eyes of the gruesome head.
a bloodstained warpaint case clasped with a rusted shackle
This sturdy metal case is covered in grit and numerous red smudges that appear to be warpaint. A rusted prison shackle with a very worn keyhole serves as a clasp.
(custom warpaint case)
You see Phii Serephteph, a Human Barbarian.
She has an oval face with thick-lashed red eyes. Her golden hair is very long and thick, and is worn arranged in a mohawk. She has tanned skin and a slender figure. Marrow-red warpaint depicts the snarling visage of Everild's boar on her face. Iron-black warpaint gives her eyes the appearance of empty sockets that are framed by dull yellow tusks painted up from the jawline. Grey bristles are painted around the root of each tusk and continue down her neck and body. (custom warpaint in the case)
Weapons and Armor
some blackened war armor mantled with heavy iron spines
Sleek cuts of leather dyed the color of fresh blood are nailed together to construct this sinister-looking armor. Overlapping ridges joint the leathers, permitting unconstrained mobility in the campaign of war. Countless iron quills jut menacingly from the shoulders and upper back like the bristled mane of some malefic beast.
a blackened war helm mounted with a pair of curving boar tusks
Sturdy oiled leather, black as orc's blood, has been stitched together with lengths of sinew to form this armor of war. Two curving boar tusks jut from either side of the jaw, their sharp points extending outward from the jawline.
gnawed-up azure-scaled leathers*
The leathers were clearly once a beautiful, uniform blue. However, something wild has apparently been gnawing on the legs, which are now stained a dark indigo.
a blackened cinquedea with a stained leather-wrapped hilt
The blade is large but relatively thin, and armed with a deadly point. Deeply engraved into the broad side of the metal is the daunting phrase "Dodge this!"
an ivory-hilted bastard sword
The ivory teeth overlap and are clenched together up the entire length, stopping at the blade. The teeth enclose around the highly polished metal, appearing to engulf it. Thin strips of jade are worked into the hilt, forming the words "Blood Lion Phii" in elegant script.
a steel riot shield with a narrow silver-rimmed eye slit
The thin break in the metal allows one to peer out at incoming dangers in safety. Designed to swiftly quell peasant uprisings, stones and pitchforks are no threat to the thick steel. The ghostly outline of an ancient crest is impressed into the broadside of the shield in silver inlay but its form is almost entirely faded with the passage of time.
a ceremonial ear-trimming scalpel
The slightly curved blade of the surgical instrument gleams dangerously. The ivory handle depicts three images: a pointed ear, a knife in motion and a round ear sporting a bleeding wound at the tip, as though its shape had been artificially 'corrected.'
There appears to be something written on it.
A ceremonial ear-trimming scalpel reads:
"I cut because I care."
(This alteration was made as a pair with the item below, which belongs to Issus. An Elf.)
a mismatched pair of dented steel ear guards bearing crushed bits of phantom sapphire
Apparently once a set of simple earcuffs in a former life, the curious items have been modified with smelted plates of steel to offer a layer of protection from attack. Deep gouges mar their metallic surfaces, and the once proud phantom sapphire inlay of the right ear guard is all but destroyed, its magical coloring ruined forever.
There appears to be something written on it.
"Back off, Phii! I don't need fixing!"
Clothing
a gigantic cloak fashioned from the full pelt and head of a lion
Adorned with sharp teeth and claws, the cloak is designed to envelop the wearer's entire body. Completely covering the head and face when pulled up, the mane of the lion drapes regally down with golden magnificence.
a low-slung black leather loincloth smudged with war paint
Otherwise unadorned, the sturdy leather garment rests low on the hips. Several finger-width streaks of red war paint are smeared across the material. Judging by the aimless pattern it is unclear whether it was intention or indifference that placed them there.
a black leather steel-plated corset
The tight black leather of the corset has been inlaid with smoothly interlocking steel plates sewn directly into the leather. The gleaming metal shifts at the slightest movement allowing perfect flexibility in the heat of battle.
some black leather riding boots with jagged steel spurs
Crafted for elite fighters, the leather boots have been carefully reinforced with small steel strips. Firmly attached to the base of the boots are deep steel treads that provide traction in even the worst of weather conditions.
a pair of snug black leggings with steel caps bolted over the knees
The close-fitting leggings are tooled of soft, flexible leather dyed a dark charcoal hue. Gleaming steel discs are firmly fixed over the knees by a series of bolts pressed directly into the leather.
some leather combat boots with spiked steel treads
The sturdy boots lace up to the knees with thick, black leather. The soles of the boots are a series of hammered steel spines designed to dig into the ground below. Small letters have been stamped into the metal.
There appears to be something written on it.
Some leather combat boots reads:
"Not recommended for indoor use."
a pair of delicate pink dancing slippers embroidered with "Dragon dance!"
The slippers have been fashioned in tasteful pink satin, with long ribbons to lace up the ankle securely. Their delicate appearance belay the tight instep, obviously crafted for a master dancer. The soft cream embroidery is stitched on the point of each slipper.
a sleek swordswoman's dress laced with a bow string
This formal dress was obviously created for a warrioress. The airy nightsilk of the gown gathers tightly at the waist, secured at the wearer's spine by a bow string. At the hips the fabric feathers out, gracefully falling in soft folds to the floor when worn. Intentionally unrestricting for the motions of a combatant, the gown is pleasing to the eye while remaining formal and yet suitable for hunting.
A primitive fur tunic made of a wrapped white bear pelt secured at the shoulder
A relatively simple garment, the tunic is crafted from an unaltered bear skin of striking white fur. The regal head of the bear drapes over the right shoulder, its frozen features pulled back in a snarl revealing rows of gleaming silver teeth.
(For the Silver and White Ball thrown by the Prince and Princess of Zoluren)
a half-rotted leather headband riddled with holes*
The holes through the headband look like they were put there by worms, the underside rather greasy and covered with a dried tarry substance. A small mold stain mars the leather near the top. (Gweth hiding headband)
Containers
a battle-worn backpack pierced with a stray arrow
Exquisitely crafted, the backpack is woven of pale grey spidersilk. Age and combat however have taken their toll on the fabric. A strange solitary arrow is lodged into the fabric, remains from a former battle. Forsaken, the arrow shows the same signs of age as the backpack itself.
a thigh quiver carved from an unusually large boar femur
Two leather straps with silver buckles attach the quiver to the wearer's thigh, the unusual size most likely from the
peccary than a normal boar. Notches have been carved into the side of the quiver, keeping track of some sort of score.
a small glass jar lined with dead butterflies
The common glass jar clasps shut with a dented tin lid, a small leather strap serving to attach it to a belt. Along the sides, dozens of butterflies lay motionless, trapped inside the glass walls of the jar. Closer inspection reveals the insects are made of silk and wax, but the imitation is persuasive.
a seared ironwood case covered with ugly rust-colored stains labeled "Man Parts"
Dried rivulets of what appears to be blood run down the wood from undearneath the lid, slightly warping the wood. Macrabre images of severed hands, legs and organs mar the top, each one crudely branded into the lid to form a grotesque, mismatched Human shape. Rusted hinges match the steel clasp, which is roughly created in the shape of a heart.
There appears to be something written on it.
A seared ironwood case reads:
"To create the Perfect Man."
Jewelry
a finger claw tipped with a long needle
The claw is designed to slip comfortably over the index finger. Triple-hinged, the device is well-oiled to move easily with the hand. At the tip of the claw a menacingly long needle quivers in the air.
an iron wedding band depicting a boar chasing a maiden
The ring is impressed with a striking scene of a charging boar pursuing a wide-eyed damsel on a stark forest background.
an iron arm cuff carved with an awkward inscription
"Phii Phy Pho Phum!" has been sloppily scratched across the surface of the metal. The crooked lines of the lettering suggests the wearer carved the phrase themselves with the armband still on.
a long silver necklace bearing a capped and engraved boar tusk*
The polished links of the chain reflect the beaten silver cap that holds the smooth variegated tusk in place. A spiraling script of prayer encircles the tapered mandible.
There appears to be something written on it.
“Everild, may my strength be unwavering against my foe. Otherwise, may I run very fast.”
(For the Silver and White Ball thrown by the Prince and Princess of Zoluren)
Other
a cracked hand mirror covered in red lip prints
Though it might have once been a valued piece, this mirror would probably be passed over by the most humble of vagrants rooting through a trash heap. The silver inlay is all but lost to gritty tarnish, and large cracks spider web the smeared glass. Despite its homely appearance, several puckered kiss marks have been planted in smudgy red gloss on its reflection by an apparent admirer.
a gleaming fan of interlocking steel blades
Wide steel blades form a makeshift fan, the materials apparently leftovers from a day at the hot forge.
a weeping mage bobblehead*
This unfortunate bobblehead seems to be caught in mid-juggle, with a carving knife in one hand, a mortar and pestle in the other, and a runestone, spellbook, and an obviously terrified, wide-eyed guinea pig all in mid-air, connected by stylized action-lines to preserve the illusion of motion. The bobble's oversized, down turned mouth is opened wide in mid-wail and rivulets of tears stream from his eyes.
a stylized painting depicting a glorified scene of battle
A vast horizon evenly divides the scene upon the canvas, a cloud-filled sky dominating the top while a great field of battle resides in the lower portion. A fierce-looking female warrior with golden hair streaming far behind her charges valiantly into battle upon the back of a fully armored wild boar. The woman holds diligently to the boar's bristles lest she fall from the rampaging beast's back. The field is strewn with those who have already fallen, a mischievous grin spread across the warrior's face.
There appears to be something written on it.
A stylized painting reads:
"RARRRR!"
(This is an item to be placed on the walls of homes.)
a simple charcoal sketch of a woman cradling a severed head
Sketched in black charcoal, the dark lines a stark contrast to the white paper, is a simple scene of a striking young woman in warrior's garb leaning against a pear tree. A playful smile crosses her lips as she gazes adoringly at at a severed head cradled between her palms. The once handsome male features are frozen in a perpetual scream. A caption at the bottom of the page reads, "My Beloved"
(This is an item to be placed on the walls of homes.)
a small bone tobacco pipe covered in spinters of crushed fingerbone*
Bits and splinters of brittle white bone are carelessly glued onto the surface of the pipe in haphazard fashion. Most of them are unrecognizeable, although a knuckle is visible here and there. The interior is hollowed out to form a neat depression, perfect for smoldering tobacco embers.
Things I've designed for others
a stately batiste moneybelt detailed with a pair of watchful eyes
The fine weave of the fabric has been painstakingly hand stitched to be both presentable and keep overly ambitious fingers out. Embroidered on the face of the coin purse are two watchful eyes in gold thread. Dusted with flakes of gold, they seem to twinkle alertly to the world around them.
A majestic ivory caravan drawn by a team of elegantly harnessed white horses
The spacious interior of the caravan opens into a comfortable room for catching up on paperwork or simply enjoying a ride in luxury. A miniature crystal chandelier sways gently from the ceiling, illuminating the pale silk walls and lush carpet with dancing flecks of colored light. Resting by the stately windows is a velvet cushioned settee for leisurely viewing of the passing landscape. A pristinely organized antique desk sits in front of several satinwood bookshelves that line the back wall.
an elegant pair of theater viewing spectacles framed in polished white gold
Delicate lenses cut from the finest crystal are shaped into two half moons and framed by thin gold wire that is polished to a mirror shine. A credit to the crafter, the spectacles are light and stylish enough for a courtly lady, and are sharp enough to view a theater stage from a box seat.
a petite lady's crown topped with a sparkling princess-cut sapphire
Encircling a puffed cap of plush red velvet, the petite crown is encrusted with glittering diamonds, rubies, and emeralds captured in exquisite gold settings. Mounted proudly on four gracefully curving arches of polished gold, the brilliant princess-cut sapphire sparkles elusively like a high window in a castle spire.
a silverwood gardener's basket frosted with sparkling icicle crystals
Masterfully woven from silverwood sapling twigs create a delightful container to store wintery foraging finds. Dozens of glistening crystals shaped into jagged, dagger like points are strung together and twisted among the basket's twigs, jingling like icicles on a winter branch.
A graceful snow white kimono draped low around the shoulders
The sweeping silk of the kimono falls softly around the body, drawing attention to a delicate neckline. A swirling pattern of silver snowflakes is embroided into the delicate white fabric of the robe. An elegant brushed silk sash wraps snugly around the waist, tied at the back in an intricate knot. Two graceful lengths of fabric dangle from the bow fluttering softly as falling snow.
A deeply-hooded sorcerer's robe with wide hanging sleeves
Expertly crafted from coarse wool material dyed a muted grey, the long sleeved garment hangs loosely over the body, thick fabric whispering with movement. Numerous well-oiled leather straps seize the robes snugly across the chest and torso, wrapping it tightly several times before disappearing into the folds of the fabric. A deep hood pulls over the head, completely obscuring the face in a long hanging shadow.
some snow-white wings dusted with frosted crystals
Delicate white feathers fan out into two graceful arcs. Twinkling crystal flecks powder the wings like an early winter frost, spraying the surrounding snow white silk with a rainbow of colors when touched by the available light.
a slender glass bottle etched with silver filigree snowflakes about the words "Empath Tears"
The bottle is stoppered with a large cork.
a charming vanilla birthday cake shaped like an ethereal castle
Spires of fluffy sweet dough rise up from this edible fortress. Cones of spun sugar adorn each turret topped with miniature candle flags. Twinkling grains of sugar sparkle like dew from this proud confection. A gingerbread gate protects the fluffy vanilla stronghold from a sleepy frosting dragon curled around it, his lemon drop eyes half closed. Where a moat might have been, large blue letters read "Happy birthday!
a pair of delicate crystal slippers flecked with silver snowflakes
Sparkling like carved ice the fragile crystal surface is bedecked with twinkling silver snowflakes, each a unique design and the size of a silver lirum. Although smooth and cool to the touch, the inside is lined with lightly padded satin the color of frosted snow, to keep toes warm and snug.
A tight desert sand-suit of heavily ribbed leather
Flexible beige tinted leather forms the outermost layer of the garment to protect its wearer from the ruthless environment of a desert sandstorm. Delicate layers of watertight muslin line the suit to slow the loss of moisture on the arid wasteland dunes.
A long hanging nomad’s shroud frayed with sand damage
This sturdy desert garment woven from hemp the hue of a sunlit dune falls lightly over the shoulders, concealing the body in airy folds. Along the heavily frayed hem is a repeating pattern of embroidered lions, slowly fading from years of exposure to the sifting desert sands.
A reflective dark steel shield engraved with faint shapes
The dark steel panels of gleaming metal come together at a slightly convex point centered on the face of the shield. Carved almost imperceptively into the dark mirror surface is a pair of narrowed eyes, gazing out quietly from the glossy sheen. Only visible in the dim of indirect light, the eyes flash with intensity and disappear in the reflection of bright illumination.
a delicate animite ring etched with two weeping gwethdesuans
Crafted of polished animite, the ring is etched with a somber scene of what appears to be two gwethdesuans comforting each other. Etched with comical realism, tiny sapphire chip tears fall from their heavily stylized faces.
